Our Vision
We believe that an effective public discussion about any subject must be well informed and based in facts. However, in the age of information, the problem becomes not obtaining information but rather sifting through the overwhelming amounts of it available to us and discern fact from fiction. It has become exceedingly difficult to keep pace with matters relevant to modern life such as technology, science, economic issues and geopolitics. This can often make news of important scientific developments or global events too obscure to apprehend.
At Informiz we aim to rebuff “fake news” online and promote fact-based public discussion by developing software that allows fact-checkers all over the world to collaborate, and gives everyone immediate access to reliable information.
Board
Secretary: Aastha Rai
The Secretary is responsible for the legal and regulatory compliance of the organization.
- Communicating meeting notices, agenda preparation and providing direction on proper meeting procedures.
- Minute taking and managing general communications of board members.
- Accurate and secure record keeping of board minutes, financial reports and other vital documents of the organization (maintaining records as required by law).
- Ensuring timely legal filings, agenda setting and keeping up to date with regulatory changes
Treasurer: Kimberly Caesar
The Treasurer serves as the finance officer and has oversight of the organization’s financial strategy
- Oversee the organization’s financial administration
- Financial planning and budgeting
- Book keeping /summarizing financial reports for the board
- Advise the board on financial strategy and fundraising
Chairperson: Nira Amit
The Chairperson is the head of the board and organization.
- Presides over board meetings and ensures implementation and monitoring of board directives
- Reviewing and evaluating performance of members to ensure accomplishment of the organisation’s goals
- Reviewing and approving the budget, revenue resources and organisational needs and concerns
Board members receive no remuneration for their work; they are compensated for any expenses made in the course of exercising their duties, including travel expenses for Board meetings.
All expenses are reported in a public Google spreadsheet.
Policy plan
Informiz is designed to ensure that users are receiving factual, reliable and up to date information. The system is based on permissioned blockchain ledgers, which allows different trusted parties (universities, news outlets, social media companies) to share and fact-check their data. In the Informiz network those parties can collaborate to create a distributed data-lake of fact-checked information.

Activity and financial report
Informiz commenced operations in May 2020. All donations, expenses and financial reports are publicly available.
